Yet another thought on awards...

This was our first time, so I'm sure we've all got opinions on how it should be done next time... Stick out tongue

But anyway, personally I thought having so many categories to submit and vote for all at once was a bit overwhelming! It was great, though, to see all the adorable submissions! Maybe in the future, we can do one award each month? Maybe have themes to go along with the calendar and/or development milestones, like:

August - summer/swimming
September - feeding pics, since our babies will be 6 mos, most of them will be on solids by then
October - Halloween costumes
November - Thanksgiving or fall-themed pics in general
December - Holiday pics
January - sitting/crawling pics
February - Valentine's Day
March - 1st b-day pics
April - Easter Bunny pics (or spring pics for those who don't celebrate)
May - walking pics
June - ??? suggestions for here?
July - patriotic pics (including our Canadian Babies!)

I also am for doing the contest on facebook, since it's so easy to vote by "liking" a picture, but I also understand there are some in our group here on TB who are not on FB for whatever reason, so I'm also fine with keeping it here.

I like the idea of having a monthly award but some of them would get complicated - 1st birthday for instance couldn't be done in March because while it would include those LOs born in Feb, it wouldn't include my LO or a few other LOs, same thing would apply with solid foods, having a set month for walking (our poor neighboor girl didn't start walking until 15 months), etc. but I do like the idea!
