"Harper is an old English name that Victoria has always loved, PEOPLE has learned, and seven is considered a very lucky spiritual number.
In addition, Harper Seven was born Sunday morning in L.A.'s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center weighing 7 lbs. (and 10 oz.) in the seventh hour in the seventh month ? on the seventh day of the week.
As sports fans can't help but also note, seven was David's jersey number for Manchester United and the English national team. "

Do you think Posh and Natalie Portman got together to name their kids letters and numbers?

I can't get behind actual numbers as names. Names that imply a number, like Octavia, sure, but actual numbers, no.
Actually, on European calendars (where the Beckhams are from), Sunday is considered the last day of the week. Biblically, the day of rest was the last day of the week, the seventh day. While "Saturday" comes from the word Sabbath, last time I checked, in America, we typically do our "resting" on Sunday, not Saturday. So that all argues for Sunday being the seventh day.
Since she helped spark the "too posh to push" phrase I'm assuming this was her 4th c-section? I guess she was able to request the date/time of the birth to coincide with her middle name choice.
The word "Saturday" comes from the Roman god Saturn.
The Sabbath is indeed Saturday. In Biblical times, the Sabbath was the day of rest to celebrate when God finished creating the world. Christians kept the Hebrew week but viewed Sunday as a holy day because Jesus rose "on the first day of the week" according to the Bible. The Sunday-Saturday calendar is used in America, Canada, Israel.
The ISO 8601 (Monday thru Sunday) calendar is used mainly in Europe, and is mostly a lunar calendar. Saturday thru Friday is used in the Middle East because the Muslims view Friday as their day of rest.
Oops, I thought the root for the Spanish "Sabado" (from Sabbath) was the same as for the English word Saturday. My bad. But yes, I know the Sabbath was the original day of rest, nonetheless, the Beckhams are from Europe where Sunday has been adopted as the day of rest and is the last day of the week.
