Anyone have the Snuza? repost from FB

Just heard about this from the FB page, someone wrote that they have it in a post.  My LO is 14 weeks today and I am still worried about SIDS and wondered if this was a good product?  I know that we can never truly prevent it from happening etc but, I of course would feel better if I knew I did everything possible should something happen.  I have read about the Angel Care monitor and decided it wasn't for me but this product intrigues me...

please share any thoughts/reviews of the product, thanks!

  • This isn't about the snooza, but have you seen this:

  • I've been using the Snuza every night for 2 months, and it's fantastic.  I'd never be able to sleep without it.  We've only had 2 false alarms, and they were both at the beginning, when we were still using cloth diapers, and didn't have a great fit with it.  It's definitely meant for disposable diapers.  It gives me so much peace of mind to know that if she stops breathing for whatever reason, I'll know within 15 seconds.

The orange Snuza is cheaper and has a replaceable battery, which is good because I've read that the battery doesn't actually last a year like they claim.  A friend of ours who's also got the orange Snuza bought some replacement batteries (they're very unusual and specific) and gave one to us, so we've got it ready to go the moment this one dies.  So far so good though!  I think this is definitely going to replace the AngelCare as people find out about it.

  • I was the one who wrote about it on fb. As I said, I really like it. Ours has gone off twice- once b/c I think it fell off and the other time, I can't really say what happened. There is one alarm that goes off when there's no movement for 15 seconds and another one that goes off if 8 movements or less are detected a minute. The 8 movement went off for a split second once, but stopped as soon as he started moving. I like to think that one was a false alarm, but there's no way I'll ever know. Either way, I'm glad I have it.

  • We have been using a Snuza Halo since day one and we really like it. It is super easy to use. I love that she can have it on in her swing, bouncer, on vacation, etc. We take it everywhere. DD doesn't seem to mind it at all.

  • I'll sell you mine!  It's the purple one.  We never get a good fit with the cloth diapers.

Is it the Halo one that vibrates? Do you still have the instructions etc? how much?

I *think* I still have the instructions.  I'll have to dig, but I'm sure you could download it online.  $75?  I paid $125 and only used it one night.
