Overland Park Regional L&D????

What are your thoughts on this hospital and delivering there? What are the nurses like, the rooms, etc.....? I was hoping to go to SMMC but my doc does not go there.

    OPRMC is where we'll be delivering. We toured there & St. Luke's South. We were more impressed with OP - they had a higher level NICU, and it just felt nicer, more open, and organized there.  I think a few of the Nesties also had good things to say about it when we were trying to make our decision.

    I deliverd at OPRMC in Feb of 06.  I loved it, although they were not quite finished with the remodel of the L&D floor, and I was sent to the overflow floor for recovery.  It was still nice, but with the new rooms, I was jealous of my friend when we went to visit her!!  The staff was awesome, and I actually ended up with the same nurse all 3 days, which is apparently very rare, but she was great.  I don't have anything to compare it to, being my only delivery, but I was very comfortable there, and the fact they have a level III NICU is great as well, even though you hope to never need it.  I actually had a coworker deliver there on Wednesday, and her baby ended up needing to go to the NICU, so you just never know.  Best of luck deciding!
