Hi Ladies! Yesterday, I went in at 40w6d to be induced per doctor's recommendation. He does not like his mamas to go past 41w. Was supposed to be here at 7am, they had to call and push me back a couple of hours because it was a very busy day. It was nice to be able to relax with DH and take the dog for a nice long walk. Arrived at the hospital at 9am, started Cytotec at 9:30 (just a 1/4 of a pill inserted at my cervix). I wasn't feeling contractions until about 11:30 and it was very dull at first. The doctor broke my water at 12:30pm and contractions started to intensify. I made it to 4cm dilated and asked for the epidural. It took an hour before the dude got there and got me going (3:45pm), it was the worst hour enduring those contractions and it was wiping me out fast. The epidural was AMAZING!!! Took away the contractions but I could still tell when I was having them as I felt the increased pressure of her head pushing down. At 4:55pm, I started pushing, all the people in the room were so encouraging and said I was doing so awesome, it really motivated me. I probably could have pushed her out faster, but to be honest I was holding back a little thinking I was going to poo all over everyone. Fortunately, I only had to push a short time and Brynn Helen was born at 5:25pm!! FULL head of hair, 7lbs 3oz, 18.5" long. We are BF and it's going ok. Sometimes I need the help of the nurses to get the latch right, but that's what they are here for.
May I introduce my gorgeous daughter?
Oh and if I can still participate in BPF, here is my last belly pic, just before we went to the hospital yesterday.
