Linea nigra, or "dark line"

Hey ladies,

I was wondering if any of you have started to get this line on your belly yet? I have pretty pale skin, and I read that if you have pale skin, you may not get one. So far, I have nothing, but wasn't sure if that is because I may be too pale, or because I am looking too soon. Just curious.

I don't have one yet, and I am medium skin tone. My sister got hers kind of late in her pregnancy. A friend of mine had her baby in April and she is fair skinned and has the dark line, but I think it's kind of cute.

I've never been pregnant before but I have always had it from when I was a teenager. I always thought it was neat. But then again, I'm a woman of color Big Smile

Definitely starting to get one! I was surprised to see one this early and I must say, not a fan!

ETA: I am Italian, so I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised!

DH noticed the start of mine a few days ago at 14 weeks. I have a medium olive skin tone (think Jennifer Lopez).

Mine just started to show, lightly this last week. I am light skinned, but am 1/4 Spanish so I am not too surprised. My sisters both got it as well.

The linea nigra can even show up after baby is born, just like stretch marks!

I don't have one yet, we'll see if/when it starts!

Yep! I seemed to get mine right away and it is all the way up my belly, not just below my belly button. I think it's kinda cool though. I have a darker skin tone.

No dark line yet (I have an olive complexion, and tan easily so I'm sure it'll show up) but dang do I have the belly hair!!! DH teases me that he's going to start braiding it!

I got mine a few weeks ago. I have a darker complexion so I'm not surprised. It's very light though still.

I'm african-american and I've always had the line there since I was a kid. However, during pregnancy it gets a little darker than normal, but that hasn't happened yet. With DD, it didn't get darker until around 25 weeks.

exactly this! No line yet butt holy belly hair.

What's funny is that DH's belly hair has gotten worse too And he looks 5 months pregnant. lol

Just noticed it on me yesterday. Very faint, but definately there. I am light skinned and was hoping I wouldnt get it, but oh well!
