I'm breaking down and buying a pacifier today.  Sometimes the kid just wants to suck!  Any suggestions for good ones?

    DD only takes the soothies... the kind the hospital gives to newborns.

    Elizabeth will only use the soothie ones from the hospital.  She spit out everyother one I gave her.  Kind of nice though since they are only $4 for 2 of them and they are one piece.

    I also use the gumdrop ones,  same shaped nipple they just have a cut out for her little nose and they come in more colors.  gotta match the outfit!

    Greyson didn't like the soothies, they made him gag. we did the Nuk genius and he loved it, somehow we lost it and found out no one carries them anymore. Now he will only take the MAM's!

    DD loves the Soothies that were given to her at the hospital. Her grandfather is a doc so we get a lot of them from him. However, I think they are so heavy and fall out easily. We have since tried the Playtex Orthos and the MAM Orthos (MAMs are also commonly given at hospitals). She took both but prefers the MAMs...so right now we give her the soothies and MAMs and we will slowly get rid of the soothies. The playtex has a weird shaped nipple, I guess it's bc of the ortho fxn. Buttt, while the MAM is ortho, it's nipple is not as weird, just different. These are all sold on amazon and are all silicone based.

    DS likes the soothie. Our LC recommended he use that one, as it helps with latching during bf-ing.

    We have gumdrops around here! DS will take a smoothie too but I don't like them as much-they seem awkward.

    before LO was born we bought a few different kinds to see what he would like. He chose the soothie. He didn't like the shape of the others and would spit them right out with a discussed look...lol.

    DS only likes the NUK Genius. I saw that pp said they weren't available anymore but I just bought two at Walmart. They only come one per package and the only color they had was orange.

    hmm... maybe it's just around here then. Every walmart and target I've been to says they don't carry them anymore!

    Mine only likes the Soothies.  We had bought a bunch of Avent ones prior to her birth and she spits them right out.  The Soothies also come attached to a product called a BubbaNub.  It helps them hang on to them a little better.
