okay so yesterday and last night were pretty bad for me, was having really painful contractions along with menstrual-like cramping and back pain- usually my contractions are painful but these were like the kind where you can't even think or concentrate on anything aside from the pain and the tightening- ( i think all these extra contractions were caused by me being more active than usual yesterday as i had to leave bed to run paperwork for my disability to work) anyways- they lasted for about 3 hours in the afternoon coming every 5 minutes and then they stopped for a few hours and came back at night coming every 6 minutes for like 4 hours- they weren't get any stronger or closer together so i wasn't too worried- should i be worried though that the contractions i am getting now are MUCH stronger than they were a week ago when i was in the hospital? - on top of this i had noticed late last night and into this morning so far that baby is being very quiet- i still feel him moving here and there but only very light movements, usually he is a ball of energy- he kicks and punches and turns and the whole nine yards basically all day long but for a while now he has been very quiet, only doing little movements that almost seem like muffled and very quiet- i probably wouldn't even feel them if i wasn't on bedrest laying still- just wanted to know if anyone had any experience they could share about decrease in fetal movement- is it okay as long as he is still moving even though it is very light? and also if anyone had experience with preterm contractions- when i was hospitalized i had a negative FFN and no dilation but i am wondering if these stronger contractions are causing dilation- did any of you have an experience similar to this? where at first ur preterm contractions weren't causing any cervical change but then they got stronger and started making changes? because the cramp like pains i have during contractions are the same pains i had when i was in labor with my daughter and i thought they were caused by cervical change?? im sorry i have so many questions- i am just overwhelmed here- i never had ANY problems like this with my first pregnancy so its so scary to me- i dont think i need to call my doctor now because im not contracting at this moment so its not like i think i am in labor or anything like that, i am just worried
Re: decreased fetal movement
There are a lot of questions here and they all kind of run together with no line breaks so that may be why you aren't getting many responses
.
I can try to give you my experience.
On decreased fetal movements: Do kick counts. My dr. likes to see 8 movements (even if slight) in 2 hrs. Do the kick counts after drinking something cold and caffeinated. If you do not get 8 in 2 hrs, call and go in immediately.
On contractions: If you have more than 5 in an hour and they are timeable, call your doctor and go get checked. It's impossible to know if they are changing your cervix without being checked. If they are, surely they will try to stop them since you are only 29 weeks.
Good luck!
little man seems to be picking up energy wise so im not as worried as before- Im going to just keep an eye on things today if i have another day like yesterday with painful contractions im just going to call the doc
thanks!
