I've been thinking about vehicles with the baby for awhile now and I am wondering if anyone has used an infant/baby seat in the back of a pickup truck. My husband has a 2008 Toyota Tacoma and it's definitely our good car and the one we use most often, and it has a back seat, but it's not an extended cab. Has anyone used a seat in the back of a truck like this? I have a small 4 door Hyundai Elantra and it's not the greatest - it runs fine and I would feel safe putting a baby in it, but it's our "drive it until it dies" car. Once we have the baby and have to travel around I don't know how long it will last and then we'd only have the truck. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Re: Anyone put a baby seat in a pickup truck?
I don't know if safety is as much of an issue as comfort. If you plan on getting an infant carrier it might be tricky getting it in and out of a pickup truck. Additionally, there may not be enough room between the infant seat and the drivers seat. (I can't push the front seat in my car all the way back because it runs into the baby seat).
Also, when LO is out of the infant seat but is still rear-facing, it might be REALLY hard.
