Back-story - My DH has gout which is treated with medication. He had to have his yearly blood work done last Thursday in order to get his RX refilled. Well the doctor called him that afternoon and asked that he stop by the lab and do the blood work over again "something just isn?t right". So Friday morning at 10:30 he gets a call from his doctor that tells him he has referred him to another doctor and his appointment with that doctor is Tuesday at 2:30 (yesterday). .....
My husband has been diagnosed with Chronic lymphocytic leukemia at the age of 31. The only saving grace is that it is a very slow progressing cancer. Next week they will do a full body scan to see what stage he is in, but based on blood work the doctor said it appeared it was in the VERY early stage. It is not curable and yes he will die from it, but probably not until his senior years.
It was such a shock that we are still trying to get over. The "this is not fair...why me" hit him last night and we just laid in bed hugging each other and crying. He kept saying that it wasn?t fair, that he just wants to walk our daughter down the aisle, that she shouldn?t have to walk down the aisle of a funeral home (I lost it then).
If you pray...please pray that his scans next week doesn?t show anything to alarming and that he is in the very early stages. My co-workers are asking me how the appointment went and all I can tell them is that it isn?t good and that I will have to tell them later as I start crying each time I even try to say the words.

A really good resource (for patients and families) is the Leukemia & Lymphoma society. Give your local chapter a call or an email, and they'll get you hooked into resources, patient education, and support people who have been exactly where you are now. (((Hugs)))

Praying. ((HUGS))
So sorry to hear news like this, you'll be in our prayers! Hopefully his doctor can offer more assurance once they get a better idea of how things look.
I am so terribly sorry for your news. I know how difficult it can be when faced with the illness of a loved one.
My brother's best friend, who is like family to us, has been battling leukemia for 2 years now, and he's winning. He's one of the toughest kids I know (he's 31 also) and he will be the first one to tell you that you've got to fight hard to get through it, but you can get through it.
My thoughts are with your family.
i am so sorry, you are all in my thoughts
I will definitely say a prayer for your DH. Please update us on the results when you have them. And know that we are here for you... even if only over the www!
Big Hugs dear.
