Wazoodle sells pre-cut Zorb II soakers for $0.97 each but if you buy 96+ they are only $0.26 each. This is a heck of a deal and you don't even have to cut them yourself. Anyone interested in splitting an order?
disclaimer: these need to be serged so they don't fray in the wash.
linky to Wazoodle
ETA: linky to a spreadsheet to sign up. Please don't put personal info in yet, just your Bump name and # of soakers you'd like. I'll probably leave it open for the weekend.
ETA: This would be for the size medium: 5.75in. x16 in. Based on my experience, I would expect them to shrink about an inch all around. They need to be sewn first, then washed 3-10 times to reach full shrinkage and absorbancy. Wazoodle is closed for the weekend, so on Tuesday or Wednesday next week I'll call and get more details on shipping costs and other stuff. I've never been involved with a co-op, so let me know if there is a better way to do something. ![]()
Re: Edited again! Hey DIYers: Anyone want to do a Zorb II soaker co-op? ETA: spreadsheet started

Sweet! I'm hoping to get at least another person on board for this. Hopefully someone tomorrow will be interested.
Have fun with your serger. I got one about 2 months ago and I.LOVE.IT!!!!!!! Makes diaper sewing so much faster and easier.

I'm not familar with an overcast stitch. I think as long as you are able secure both sides of the fabric and a bit of the middle layer, you would be ok.
For clarification, Zorb II is a layer of absorbant cellulose material sandwiched between thin layers of bamboo/cotton. The inner layer frays, so I think if you can secure the edges of the middle layer, you would be ok.

Based on their website, shipping to my house would be around $12, so that divided up + individual shipping (probably through PP, so it would be cheaper) to each person.

Getting enough sleep? Everything good?
I'm a total lurker here (I'm really active on the Seattle board), and have thought about trying to find people to do this, too! My thought was to layer the zorb with some bamboo terry or fleece precuts to make a good pocket insert - I was thinking sandwiching the zorb between two of the terry or fleece precuts. Does anyone else think that would be a good idea?
Anyway, I'd be in for at least 10 of the zorb layers, if nothing else. Thanks!
I'd love to be in on this! I added myself to the spreadsheet. Thanks!
It's Zorb II, so I don't think you even have to sandwich if you don't want to. It already has bamboo/cotton layers on the outside.

I'd be in for some too!
ETA: Could these be used for pocket inserts? I bought some last chance BGs and I still need inserts for them.

The Chaos of Six!
An overcast stitch is similar to a serged edge but there is no cutting involved, Its a sewing machine's version of serging basically.
I put myself on the spreadsheet as well!

I'm just planning to zig-zag the hell out of mine, but if anyone with a serger was willing to finish edges, I'd pay something for their trouble.
jenny - Owen is fabulous! He's growing like crazy and we're mostly enjoying the crazy ride of parenthood. DH is off for the summer now (he's a teacher), so I'm looking forward to having us all together for a couple of months.

Same here. If someone is interested in doing this for pay, I would gladly order some.

and Luck to my BFPB StephK!!- Emma is here!!
I would totally be fine doing some smalls too!!
My sewing machine has a "serger" setting which is just a tighter zigzag stitch, and it works on our zorb. If you have a machine check your settings!
