How do you dispose of diapers? We have a trash can now that our dog can't get into (because he would if he could). but we only empty it once or so a week and I'm sure diapers in there wouldn't smell pretty. I've been thinking about registering for a diaper genie type thing as long as I can find one he can't into. Just wondered what everyone used to dispose of dirty diapers.
Re: moms with babies & dogs
We use the Diaper Genie II and it works great! We have one upstairs and one downstairs. I've heard they can start to smell after time, but our's is ok so far. I plan to spray it with Lysol after each change to reduce the chance of odors.
I'm not sure if our dog would get into the diaper trash or not (she usually doesn't at home, but she does at DH's office)... but we use the Diaper Champ. I think it works just fine, the dog doesn't even sniff around it. The only time you smell anything is when you take the bag out to change it.
The thing I love about the diaper champ, is it takes any type of bag really. We use small vanilla scented kitchen bags, 13 gallon I think? (the scented bags helps a bit too!) but there's also been a time or two (early on) when I used grocery bags, and they worked just fine too. Now that her diapers are stinkier though, I definitely stick with the scented bags that I can tie shut.
