I know people have asked several times so I thought I would share. We've been to Par mer Lane Fa mily Dentistry since we moved to Austin and have never had complaints other than it was always $$. I always felt that there was something that I needed to get done that was very expensive. We decided to try Dr. Hassell in Pflugerville on the inlaw's recommendation. I don't think I've ever been so pleased leaving a dentists office. They have that small office feeling and everyone is extremely friendly. DS saw them a few weeks ago and felt comfortable enough to sit for them in the chair and get a cleaning.
At my last office I was quoted as needing 2 crowns @ 1k+ each
and two fillings @ 600. Yeah wasn't in the budget so it didn't happen. Today Dr. Hassell told me the crowns were not necessary but I did need some filling and repairs on some fillings (7 total) and the estimate was 400 total. MAJOR difference from six months ago. I grind my teeth and the Dr. told me if the drugstore night guards were working for me no need to have one made in his office. The receptionist was VERY helpful with insurance questions and even told me to come in when I get my EOB to help me file on my secondary insurance. I'm covered through ex's insurance and my company. At the other office I was just told "you have to do that on your own, we don't do that for you."
ETA: I was told by the ladies at the front desk that the other dentist is very easy on the eyes. ![]()
Re: PF dentist recommendation
Dang, wish I had seen this before I forked out $2k on dental work a couple months ago.
