  With DD i got it at 1 1/2 CM the nurse really pushed for it specially because my OB allows it before you reach 3 CM. I ended up with back pain cause of it, so my plans so far are to NOT get it this time around, but it all really depends on the pain

  I'm going to try to go as long as I can without one. If labor ends up wearing me out to the point that I would have no energy to push, or if the pain is intolerable, I would ask for one.
