I had a chemical pregnancy last week and the doctor mentioned we could try this next month if we were ready or wait one more period. I would like to try again this month but was wondering if the chances are greater for a miscarriage after the c/p. My thoughts are if we weren't trying I would have never known. But also don't want to have to go through another c/p again. I realize everyone is different and that it can happen again. I just want to give myself the best possible situation for a healthy pregnancy. I do have factor V but he said the c/p probably didn't have much to do with the disorder. I am taking prenatals, baby asprin, and folgard. Thanks!
Re: XP: TTC first cycle after c/p?
If your doctor gave you the ok, and you and your H are emotionally ready, I would say you are fine to TTC this month.
FWIW, I was conceived the month after a c/p...
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas

Honestly, I think what the dr advises you has more to do with your other background (like other m/c) rather than with your chemical pregnancy. I only say this because the same OB practice gave a friend of mine the advice to wait a cycle but told me I could try right away if I wanted to. We had chem preg within a week of each other, but she had had a previous missed m/c and I hadn't.
I don't think it's more of a risk, but maybe an emotional break too that they want you to have. FWIW, we conceived my son the cycle after our early miscarriage. We did have a nurse give us the side-eye when we had to use my m/c date as LMP, but overall, we had no issues with it.
HTH! Sorry for your loss and I hope you have good luck with it whenever you do decide to TTC!
