2 month vaccine = screaming baby

DS got his 2 month vaccine today and has been having screaming fits since then. I have given him tylenol and am waiting for the 4 hours to be up so I can give him more. But in the mean time does anyone have any advice what to do for the screaming? The last bout he screamed until he passed out. I have tried rocking, swaddling, un- swaddling, running water, Singing, Gah I feel like I've tried everything. But I'm sure there's something I don't know. Any advice is welcome.

TIA

  • Try a little sugar water on a pacifier..see if that will settle him..works wonders for pain in infants

  • Call your pediatrician for the correct dosages, but I know you can give tylenol/ibuprofen interchangeably. For example: tylenol at 6, ibuprofen at 9, tylenol at 12. So they are only getting each medicine every 6 hours like recommended, but they are two different medicines. It's what always worked for us when DD was in terrible pain.

infants shouldn't have ibuprofen before 6 months old.
