Is this a PTing sign?

Or just her being a brat? Stick out tongue

Gabi will take her diaper off as soon as she's peed/pooped if we are at home - If I haven't tricked her with a onesie.  If she can get the pants off, the diaper is next, then she runs right to the bin to grab a new diaper.  She'll bring it to me, lay down and hike her legs up.  It is so bizarre to me - totally not something the older two did.

So, do you think she's ready?  She's 21 mos.  I have put her on the toilet a couple times on the kid seat, after she's already went in the diaper.  MIL claims she  sat there for about 10 minutes a few days ago.  Didn't go, but was content to sit there.

She's communicating much better since having tubes placed about 3 weeks ago, but I'm not sure she would be able to communicate well enough, especially if were were not at home.

Re: Is this a PTing sign?

  • I think it's a sign. It's one of the first things that DS#2 started doing that made me think he might be ready for PTing. I might go for full on PTing with her right now, but maybe just start encouraging her kwim? DD started showing an interest around that same age too but we didn't go full on PTing until she was 2.5y/o.

  • That's how we started with DD.  We tried to potty train at 18 months but she was just not ready, even though SHE was the one wanting too.  We put her in a pull-ups for a few months and tried again.  I would try for a few days every few weeks. She is just about fully trained now and pretty much did it on her own.
