First off I have been a roller coaster of emotions. I lost my son at 24 weeks so you will understand why I am a wreck.
I woke up this morning just feeling different...kinda sluggish and drained. I have had no real movement from my little girl since Sunday. Normally if I eat something sweet she will move alot. So I had a Dr. Pepper and nothing then I had a cookie and nothing then. I'm at work this morning and I go to the restroom and I have lost my muscus plug. *Not attractive at all*. I have not had any pain, cramping or bleeding. Of course my doctor is out on vacation (great timing doc). As I was driving home I called my FI to tell him I was going to go to my dr office and made a bee line over there. They gave me an ultrasound which showed my placenta had moved and my cervix is still closed. As the tech was watching her you can see on the screen that she was moving but I couldn't feel it. I ended up seeing another dr in the practice and he ran some other test and told me to drink plenty of fluids. The dr stated that the results might not be back until in the morning but he will call me as soon as they come in. I got the call and he stated that the fetal fibronectin came back positive. Which means I have a high chance of going into preterm labor. He stated that I need to call in the morning to see what they would like to do next.
Right now I am a ball of emotions and trying to stay positive. My FI is trying to do everything he can to keep my mind off of it. I need this little girl to stay in and bake for another 10-12 weeks. I'm not ready for her yet...pluus she is suppose to be a pumpkin baby.
Thanks for letting me get this out.
Re: update - please pray for us (via facebook) - long
I saw another doc and he said nothing about bed rest...but that is what I am doing. I have already cancelled appointments for work. Got other co-workers to fill in for me at court. I will see what they say in the morning.

Thoughts and Prayers with you. The good news is that they did they ffn test and you can plan and monitor. From what I've hard, a negative test is negative. But a positive test doesn't always mean you will go into preterm labor.
When you talk to your doc, make sure you ask about things like P17 shots (I'm taking these), cervical cerclage, and steroids for your LOs lungs.
I too am a preterm risk and have done a bunch of research on this. Get plenty of rest and drink lots of water. Hang in there.
I hope your LO stays put for a few more months at least, and I'll be sending lots of thoughts your way.
So sorry for the scare...dont let a positive fetal fibrinectin scare you..there are more false positives than real positives...it's mostly a test for a negative..thats when it is pretty definitive.
Did he do a cervical length ultrasound?
Did he put you on any medications to prevent labor? Such as nifedipine

The dr did say something about the P17 shots...I will ask about the other things tomorrow.
Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry you're going through this.
Sending T&Ps your way
Oh wow, I can't imagine how scary this all is for you. The girls have given you some great info - please keep us posted. You'll be in my thoughts.
Sassy- you should take a look at https://www.facebook.com/adventuresofthestayathomemom she went through something very similar to this last week, she's a bumpie as well. Also, take some comfort in the fact that while a negative test would lower your risk of preterm labor to a very small window, a positive test doesn't mean that you are defiantly going to. check out the march of dimes page here for even more info on the FF test. https://www.marchofdimes.com/pregnancy/pretermlabor_fetalfibronectin.html I would encourage you to call in the morning and ask for a second test. Drink lots of water and try to remain calm tonight. <hugs> I'll post this on FB as well in case you are checking there.
I'm praying for you now and will continue to pray. You're a great mom already for doing all you can to protect your baby!
I know this is no consolation, but a girl I grew up with has a very similar story to yours. She lost her first born around 22 weeks, and then her daughter was born at 25 weeks. Her daughter is 3 now, and she's healthy, strong, and absolutely beautiful.
