With the doctor that we chose, we haven't gotten a single ultrasound. They did one at my first appointment only because they couldn't find the heartbeat with the doppler. It was so quick we didn't even get to really look at the screen nor did we get a picture. Now, here I am at 16 weeks pregnant and the doctor tells us we won't get an ultrasound until August, which is when they'll look for the gender. It's a little upsetting to have to wait longer than all my other pregnant friends. They all found out around 16-17 weeks. When did you find out?

I know it's so hard to wait, but it will be worth it!
I found out the gender during my A/S ultrasound at 21.2 weeks!
My anatomy scan was at 18w2d, and we were able to find out that we were having a boy then.

I found out the gender during my A/S ultrasound at 21.2 weeks!
It's also a lot more accurate if you wait until around 20-22 weeks too!
A LOT of women only get 1 ultrasound during their pregnancy...at the anatamy scan where finding out the sex of the baby is just a perk... not the purpose of the scan obviously.
My OB doesn't do the a/s until weeks 21-22. We had a gift certificate for an elective ultrasound place and found out the sex of the baby at 16.5 weeks. It was later confirmed at 22 weeks at our a/s.
If you don't want to wait you could always pay for an elective scan... they typically run about $60-100 depending where you live.
I found out at our anatomy scan at 18w4d. I had also had 2 prior ultrasounds - a dating scan at 8w3d and NT scan at 13w.
I got another u/s just 2 weeks ago because my doctor couldn't find the hearbeat on the doppler - he was moving around too much!!!
I know it's hard to wait, but the further a long you are the easier it will be to tell the sex as well as make sure all of the organs are present and functioning properly, which is the most important thing!!!

I guess it all depends on the doctor and the situation. We are considered high risk so we get an ultrasound every month.... we found out yesterday (the last day of week 15) that we are having a girl. A good friend of mine is just 2 weeks behind me and we go to the same OBGYN and they are making her wait until her 20 week appointment in August. I hope you find out soon
good luck and congratulations
18 weeks with our son, 19 weeks (plus a few days) with our daughter and I'll be 18w4d when we (hopefully) find out with this one.
HA! This is pretty presumptuous to assume that everyone who got an early gender songram is 'not too bright', don't you think? I did a lot of research before I chose to get a sonogram for early sex determination, and by 14 weeks, the sex organs are developed enough to determine whether the fetus is a boy or a girl. Yes, the accuracy is a bit lower than if you waited until 20 weeks at an a/s, but not enough to stop me (it's around 3% less accurate). I would be surprised if they were wrong, but I also know it IS a possibility (as there is still a possibility that any of you 20 weekers had sonographers that have guessed incorrectly). Why don't you think twice before you go around assuming everyone is not as smart as you, eh? Thanks.

We are finding out the gender at our 20 week u/s also for our anatomy scan
Posting from an Android sorry for any errors
I found out at 18 weeks, but only because I paid for an elective u/s. Otherwise, I would have found out at my a/s yesterday, at 19w6d.
When I told people at 18 weeks, most were surprised I had found out so early. Finding out at 16-17w is not the norm.
We find out at 20w3d on July 26th. We got a best guess at the NT scan, but you can't really base anything on that.
ETA: I got ultrasounds at 5 weeks and 6 weeks because I was having problems. Then my NT scan (that was optional) was at 12w5d.

But, we did have an u/s at our 7, 11 and 16 week appts. None of those ever told us boy or girl though.

We found out at 16w, but only because I had a precautionary u/s (everything turned out fine)! Otherwise, we would have had to wait until the anatomy scan at 20w.
I know it's hard to wait, especially once the anxiousness sets in. It will SO be worth the wait, though!
No, the error rate at 14 weeks is about 50%, which is about the same error rate of flipping a coin.

Early guess at 16 weeks. We were at a perinatologist's office for a heart beat issue and I asked if they could take a peek. We were told they saw a girl but to not go buying pink yet. That was understandable.
We had confirmation at 20 weeks.
We got an initial ultrasound at 12 weeks and then the anatomy scan/gender ultrasound at almost 20 weeks...
No good that you have to wait so long, I would go crazy. It is because they are so booked they can;t get you in for an ultrasound until August or is that just their policy?
We were supposed to find out at 18 weeks, but ended up finding out at 15 weeks because I had a bad episode and ended up in the ER.
You can have an elective u/s in the mean to find out or change doctors if you are not happy with the policies. I know I would be happy with that few and far between u/s's.
