Morning everyone!
Had my 34 week appt yesterday and was NOT expecting to be placed on the monitor and sent for a growth and fluid check US.
Of course it was super exciting to see chipmunk but I was scared to death that he stopped growing.
He is measuring in the 23rd% but my daughter has been between 20 and 25% since she was born as well! I am waiting for the official call but hoping that he is taking some of the many calories that I am taking in and grows!
Does anyone know of a site that shows how many ounces they are gaining at this point?
Re: Belly measuring 4 weeks behind! Growth US & Fluid Check
I was in the same boat at my 36 week apt... I was sent for an ultra sound and now I have NSTs every week until baby comes out. Baby measured in the 19th percentile which is small but still OK. If your fluid levels are normal and baby is doing well you might just be on your way to having a small baby.
I believe babies gain ~ 1/2 oz a day (fat) after 36 weeks I am not sure what the growth rate is prior to that. As long as the baby's growth is not restricted and at 23% it does not seem like his growth is at all restricted, the worry starts if the baby is in the 10 percentile. As far as growth and calories go I think the best thing for your baby is good protein, maybe eggs for breakfast?
Best of luck hope you and the baby do well the rest of your pregnancy.
With DD #1, I measured about 4 wks behind. I had weekly NST's & U/S starting at 30 wks. She was small, but growing fine. At 37 wks, my fluid level dropped & I was put on bed rest. At 38 wks, I was induced because the levels had dropped a lot. She was 5lbs, 6oz at birth. She has never reached the charts for weight. But I am small, and was a small baby as well.
This time I'm measuring 4 wks behind, but baby is in the 42nd percentile. I've only had a few extra U/S. We'll see what the next few weeks bring!
Good luck to you & your peanut.
