Anna Elise has been a fairly good sleeper from day 1. Right now, her schedule is bed around 8om, dreamfeed at 9:30 or 10pm (which she is rarely fully awake for) and then sleeps until 6am. Anna is an EXTREMELY active baby and wakes up almost every hour between 3:30am and the 6:00am wake time. When she wakes up, my husband and I run in there to pat her, stick a pacifier in her mouth, wrap her back up every time she wakes up before 6. We try to run in there before she starts really wailing so she goes back to sleep faster. Normally, she goes back to sleep with in 3 or 4 minutes.. only to be grunting around again in another hour to an hour and half. She doesn't need to eat... she just wakes up.
Is running in there to give her a pacifier, settle her down starting a bad habit? She's 4 months old, is it appropriate to start letting her "cry it out"?
Re: Crying it Out?
It sounds like she's uncomfortable. DD did the same thing until we started putting her to sleep at an angle. She slept much better then. As far as CIO, I would wait because she is still young. There's a better chance of her needing something rather than having a self soothing issue.
