I'm pretty sure my toddler has allergies (seasonal, I guess, but related to outdoor pollen). He has itchy eyes, a runny/stuffy nose, and sneezes. He sneezes several times a day (probably 10-15), his nose is runny when he wakes up (and he hasn't mastered blowing it yet!) and still is several hours later, and he'll rub his eyes several times a day and tells me that his eyes are itchy. Is this something I should take him to the doctor for? (I grew up in a family that NEVER went to the doctor, so I don't want to be dramatic and take him to the doctor for something minor, but I don't want him to suffer if it's something that "normal" people would get advice on, if that makes sense.) Thanks.

Re: Seasonal allergies-take to doctor? meds?
My daughter has seasonal allergies. I said something to the doctor at a regular check up and she told us to just get some allergy medicine from the store because the stuff she would prescribe is the same. The only advantage to that is if you have Caresource or something similar. Our daughter takes liquid Kroger brand Allergy Medicine and it works great!
Just make sure you look at the ages on the box, a lot of the kids' allergy medicines have changed from 2+ to 4+ in the past couple years. I didn't think about it and bought a decongestant/allergy medicine too and went home only to realize it was 4 and up
