VBAC

Is VBAC still ok if you go early?

I'm 34w2d and i have been put on modified bedrest for preterm contraction without dilation. I plan on asking my OB at my Thursday appt, but wanted to get some immediate feedback from my fellow Bumpies.

If I go early, anytime after today, do you think my ob will still let me VBAC?

I don't know why/how things would change, but just wondering what y'all have heard.

TIA

  • I guess it depends on your OB and the details of your situation, but I know that pre-term VBACs do happen.

  • In the absence of any fetal distress that would indicate a c/s, I can't think of any reason why it would not be possible or any less likely.

I hope LO stays cookin' a little longer =)

  • No idea about going as early as you are, but I'd say that many OB's doing vbacs would be thrilled with you going into labor at 38 or 39 weeks because it'll be a smaller baby and they seem to all think that size is the only factor for success.

I'm in Houston too, who are you using? I had my vbac with Dr del Castillo.
