I bought a bottle of the Enfamil Poly-vi-sol last night for LO. I was concerned he isn't getting all the necessary vitamins since he isn't a big veggie eater. His diet mainly consists of yogurt, oatmeal, fruits, and pasta. He is on stage 3 foods and some table food. He is also doing toddler formula in place of milk, taking about 21 oz per day.
Anyways, any other Moms out there have their toddlers on Poly-vi-sol multivitamin suspension? How do you administer it to LO? Why did you decide to put them on a multivitamin?
Re: Poly-vi-sol for toddlers
We have Liam on Poly-Vi-Sol drops daily but that is because our pediatrician told us to give them at his 6 month appointment because his iron was low. Despite giving him the drops every day and watching his diet he's still below normal (barely, but still) so the pediatrician just tells us to keep it up and we will recheck at every appointment to see where he is.
I myself have a difficult time with my iron uptake and am usually below normal despite supplementing (when I was pregnant I had to take a prenatal plus a double dose of iron every day) so it seems he is just taking after me.
ETA: I give the iron straight up from the dropper on the changing table before bedtime. Liam doesn't mind the taste at all, surprisingly, and we brush his teeth right after because the drops can stain their teeth.
When she was on formula, we would just put it in one of her bottles each day. Now that she drinks milk, I just put it in her first sippy cup of the day.
