Does it take long to get the hang of an iPhone?

Upgrading from a dinosaur to an iPhone. Is it pretty simple to figure things out? Any suggestions for when I go buy it? For example, the type of case to get/not to get, etc?

  • Just  play w/ it for an hour or so and it'll be a breeze.

  • Nope. Every toddler I've ever seen has been able to pick up my phone and figure out how to play with it in no time at all.
  • Excellent. That's what I was hoping to hear.
  • I would recommend an Otter box case.  It is waterproof, protects the screen, and cushions the phone if it drops.

I had a blackberry before the iphone.  I do like the iphone better.

  • I agree with the Otter Box.  They are pricey ($50 maybe) but well worth it.  Mine has been dropped on concrete several times by DD and laid in a puddle of water (at the pool) before and it doesn't have a scratch on it.  And if you can't figure the phone out, have one of your kids show you.  lol.  DD knows more about mine than I do.

  • After 24 hours, you will be a pro.  Overstock has good deals on cases and films.  I have a rubber case that goes around the edge.  It bounces pretty much.   I think it was about $5 and I have had it for two years, but they also have the otterbox ones for less.
  • I have an Otter Box Defender case for $35 off of Amazon. I just graduated from dinosaur to iPhone and I love it! We did have an iPad, though so I was used to the format, but it's pretty simple I think.

  • I forgot to say,I use a Kate Spade phone case. It's really girly but a bit protective.I wanted to say that the otter box isn't perfect for drops. My H's phone shattered in an otter box and the fall was from an office desk onto the floor. Apple told me that it's not so much the bulk of the case that protects the phone but actually how the phone lands. A case can't save a phone from a fall of it lands just right. But, some do help so do get a case of some sort.
