I was having a conversation with my 3 year old about wearing seat belts and how it is my job to keep him safe, and he says:
"No mommy, it's daddy's job to keep me safe. It's not your job."
"Oh really? So what's my job then?"
"It's your job to cook the food."
Oy vey. I was very upset by that! But I guess in his life eating is important and I'm the one who takes care of that need. That's how I'm rationalizing it anyways.
Re: "It's your job to cook the food"
Ugh! I know that it what I am going to get in a few years.
Aw, just remember it and torture her with it for the rest of her life.
When I was 3 or 4 someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. My reply was "Nothing, just like my mommy."
I meant it in the sincerest way...that I wanted to have kids and stay home with them, but my mother has never let me forget it.
