Have you had a baby with ei's who's only symptom is screaming? Jason had his first infection a few months back. Last night he screamed and screamed would only tolerate be held. He's eating fine and doesn't exhibit any other symptoms, last time he couldn't take his bottle. He seems better today but grandma is downstairs holding him. I'm not sure if he just had a fussy night, maybe teething or if it could be another infection.
My poor little guy (and mommy and grandma) it was mayhem here last night. The boys share a room and everyone ended up awake and screaming.
Re: ladies with ear infection experience?
My girls wouldn't cry that much with ear infections, they ran fevers and just laid on me. It was so sad. If you get recurrent ear infections get tubes, what a world a difference it makes.

Matt had 9 ear infections before we ended up getting tubes, which made the world of difference. So, unfortunately, I'm well versed when it comes to EI's. Matt had a couple of ear infections where his only symptom was screaming unless if he was held. When they lie down, and have an EI, the fluid builds up and causes a lot of pain. That is why they like to be held..it relieves the pressure. Hope your little guy feels better soon!
Mine never screamed much, they'd just get super high fevers and be so sad and pitiful.
We ended up with tubes right before Christmas last year - though they have now all fallen out a little prematurely (on BOTH kids- seriously?!)
We're hoping to avoid doing it again, we'll see at our followup on Monday.
This. DD seemed to get her ear infections right after a cold, so there were time where I had no idea she had an infection and she did. Then there were time I swore it was an ear infection and it wasn't . Its so hard to see your little ones uncomfortable and not know what is going on...hope he is better soon and its nothing major!

Unfortunately all babies react to EIs differently. My guys were never ran a fever or even that much more cranky, but their ears were a mess.
I would take him in. Or if you want to be really anal about it (like me) just buy an earscope and then you can be Dr. mom.
