Breastfeeding

I'm not sure if my milk is in or not, help?

I'm a few hours short of being 4 days pp, have been engorged (i think) for over a day, and what I am getting from pumping changed from the clear yellowish fluid to a milky yellowish fluid.

I thought that BM is supposed to be white, if mine is yellowish does that means it is still colostrum?

  • My milk is usually sorta yellowish and DD is 4 mo.  Different fat content will cause different colors.  If I pump just for relief when engorged and get a lot of foremilk, it is watery and bluish white, but anything after letdowns is yellowish.

  • Your milk is in.  It can look a variety of colors.  Sometimes mine is yellowish, sometimes it is greenish (when there is a ton of foremilk), sometimes it is more white looking.
