We can't seem to fill our little guy up - he is up to two containers of food with oatmeal added to one of them for both lunch and and often eats 8 oz after that. That seems like tons of food. He still gets a dream feed at midnight and he always take 8 or 9 oz, but he is still waking up an hour earlier than normal because he is so hungry. Anybody else going through this?
Re: Anybody else's baby STARVING?
We are not, just have a Crank-Pot-Fussi-Pants on our hands.
But it could be just a growth spurt - I think there is one around 6 months and your LO just may be a little early.
Thanks for posting this! I was just wondering how much everyone else's LOs were eating of solids. Simon just started last night and I gave him 1 "ice cube" of peas which I think is about 1 ounce and he ate it all up. Was wondering if I should give him another one...
Sounds like your guy is a great eater!
Pretty sure my DS would chew off his fist if that is all I fed him. He eats 5 times that twice a day followed up by 5-8 oz of formula. However, this is new this week. He has always been a good eater, but now he is out of control. I think it has to be a growth spurt. As far knowing how much to feed your LO, I would start slowly with the solids until you can gauge how it affects him. Once you feel that he is doing well, just watch for his cues. As long as my LO is opening his mouth when he sees the spoon we assume his is still hungry. When he turns is head away and pushes the food out with his tongue we figure he is done. Good luck with the solids. It is fun to feed them isn't it?
Def sounds like a growth spurt! It is so much fun feeding him! I'm very cautious of feeding him more because he has slight reflux, and I don't want to have peas all over, but if he continues to do well this weekend I'll def increase the amount. He had a lovely pea-green poop for me this morning, lol! That is certainly a new adventure in itself! I'm making his food too, which I'm really enjoying! So many new things to try!
