Anyone plan out meals by the week?

I'm feeling lazy, it's grocery day but I haven't planned a menu.

What's on your menu for the week?

  • Not really answering your question, but I could go for a peach after looking at your siggy pic.

  • I do :) I find if I don't plan the week's meals I end up buying whatever's on sale/looks good and have trouble putting together actual meals when it comes time to cook haha!

this week's menu = taco salad,  springy shells, french bread pizza (homemade), linguine with ham and peas, and veggie pizza

I know, two pizzas and two pasta dishes probably sounds like a lot. I just can't handle meat-heavy meals these days. I've been trying to make my pizza/pasta recipes lighter by using low-fat cheese and whole grain pasta. For lunch I'm living off egg/tuna/or chicken salad wraps for breakfast it's always cereal.

  • It's too hot to cook inside, so we'll probably be grilling all week.  DH is making pizza on the grill today with fresh mozzarella and basil.  We'll also have a salad with homemade raspberry balsamic dressing.

We bough some grass-fed beef and pork chops at the farmers market, so burgers tomorrow (with grilled corn) and grilled pork chops with asparagus on Friday.  I'll also make a carrot salad to go with it.

King crab legs and buffalo shrimp this weekend.

ETA: I also eat a fresh Caprese salad every single night these days, with tons of fresh basil.

  • Somehow watermelon just made it onto my list...

Great ideas thanks ladies. Now to planning and writing the list.

Yup, I do too.  I make a list each week and mostly stick to it...I've saved a ton of money grocery shopping and not going for last minute dinners out since we started doing this.  Here are the dinners from the current week:

Sunday:  Pork Chops (w/ olive oil, salt, pepper, thyme), Salad, watermelon

Monday:  Grilled Chicken breasts, sweet potato fries, fresh green beans, watermelon

Tuesday:  Leftover Chicken cut into strips for soft shell tacos, watermelon

Wednesday:  Making a big pot of stuffed green pepper soup, corn bread,  watermelon.

Thursday:  Leftovers.  And oh, I don't know...Watermelon?  LOL.

Friday:  Pizza night this week.  Veggie pizza at Papa Murphy's, side salad.

Saturday:  Grilled Chicken sandwiches, grilled onions, zucchini, and squash.  And Watermelon.

And let's be honest...I've already had a scoop of cookies'n'creme ice cream for dessert twice this week and will probably break down again at least twice.  Embarrassed

    Hahaha, someone likes watermelonBig Smile

  • I don't usually plan weekly menu's but I really should start.  Maybe after our move on the 1st I'll start!  I have to second that this should be posted weekly, loving the ideas!

Sunday - Pork chops and oven potatoes and a green salad

Monday - Grilled hamburgers, grilled onions, fries, and a green salad

Tuesday - LAZY!  I spent the day in agonizing pain with a kidney stone/kidney infection after spending Sunday/Monday night and morning in L&D having contractions.  SO after a dose of phenagren and Dilaudid I was able to eat!  We had chicken and fish sticks, lol!

Wednesday - Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Rice Bake - From Here https://picky-palate.com/2011/04/25/chicken-and-black-bean-green-enchilada-rice-bake/

    Thursday - Leftovers

    Friday - We'll be at a wedding

    Saturday - Mexi-Chicken Campanelle - From Here https://picky-palate.com/2011/03/03/mexi-chicken-campanelle-dinner/
Unless it's too hot, then we'll be grilling some salmon.

Sunday - I think we'll be topping wine at my parents and hopefully we'll be having a yummy dinner there :)
