The thrush.

So....my little guy has thrush.  And, it's not going away!  We are applying ointment to his diaper area and the liquid to his mouth as directed, but we just can't fight it.  I'm sterilizing everything after he puts it in his mouth.  I'm running out of ideas on how to beat this.  Any experience with this and or suggestions?  Also, have you heard of babies getting it this late?  I always thought it was more of a newborn thing...

    Makaia had thrush when she was 3 months old I believe, they gave her a dose of the Gentian Violet (the bright purple stuff) and another dose to take home in case the first one didn't knock it all out at once. They have nystatin cream and ointment, I would ask for the ointment if the cream is not working. Also I was told that you can use equal parts vinegar and water to sterilize everything, and let air dry. I know how annoying thrush is especially when its hard to get it to go away. Best of Luck!
