winter outerwear

I need to get ds a winter one-piece (are they called buntings?)  A lot of you have the cute teddy bear ones.  I don't know what size to get. Do I try to get one that will last all winter, or will I need to get 2?

What size is dc in now and what size winter outerwear did you buy?

THanks!

Re: winter outerwear

  • i have the dark brown carters fleecey teddy bear one.  i love it.  i have it in 9 months, and that's the biggest i could find.  i wanted a 12 month, but i haven't been able to find it and am starting to think they don't exist.  i just wanted it bigger because it goes over DS clothes.  the 9 month is still a little big, but i don't think it's going to last him all winter.....

  • We didn't buy any winter outerwear except a hat and mitts. DS gets hot quick so we have to layer. He wears regular clothes, mitts, hat, blanket and car seat cover.
  • I've seen them called bunting some places and coveralls other places.  Potato, potahtoh.

I bought a really cute ralph lauren one at marshall's.  It is corduroy on the outside with a warm insulated flannel lining on the inside.  I got it on clearance last year for like $10.  You might check marshall's or tj maxx for a good deal.

It is in his current size (9 mos), but I worry about his outgrowing it and will get another one if I need to.  BTW, I am only planning to use it when he is physically outside, not in the car seat.   I think they have too much padding to use safely in the carseat.
