I'm an office manager. After my maternity leave I'm staying with the same company but doing Outside Sales...I'm super nervous. But the flexible schedule that sales provides should be nice for a working mom! Anyone else in outside sales?

So, I know there are alot of us working Moms out there and I was curious as to what you all do?
I do payroll for a management company. We own 13 nursing homes in Southern California.
Ok...now your turn!
We might "work with each other"! I'm a Supply Chain Specialist for a company that sells products for nursing homes/senior living. I manage our various vendors/suppliers etc.
I'm the Director of Sales and Marketing for one of the lagest medical supply and equipment group purchasing organizations in the US, but once I return from maternity leave, I will be promoted to Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Should be interesting.

Hello there! I've been in outside sales for the past 10 years and I've loved every minute of it! Will you have to travel? Have a territory? I've traveled the US almost every week, every other week for the last 4 years and while it's by no means glamorous, I have personally really liked it. Now that I'm having a baby though, they are pushing me more into a management/VP role so I can take a back seat and let all the guys below me do the back breaking, weekly travel grind, which is nice! If you're a person that doesn't need to me micro managed, is organized, can juggle a schedule and deal with high stress sales goals, you will be GREAT!
I'm a Legal Administrative Specialist (paralegal) for a company that deals with skin care/skin health since December. I do Intellectual Property which is patent, trademark and copyright protection.
Basically a book keeper for a small program in USDA. I don't like it much...my degree is in elem ed, but it is nearly impossible to get an actually classroom job around here

I'm a sales consultant for a med device company that sells speech communication devices to people with disabilities or cannot use their voice to effectively communicate.
I'm a flight dispatcher for a private jet charter company in Ft. Lauderdale. I do it all, quote trips, dispatch the pilots, invoice trips and keep all the flight hours in order. It has its ups and downs, but for the most part its alot of fun.
I'm a WAITRESS with a degree in Graphic Design... hated sitting at a computer all day for 5 years so I'm leaving my degree behind for now and most like pursuing a career in Ultrasound Tech after our son is born!!

Hi there! I will travel but only locally, probably within 20 miles of my home. I work well independently, I have great time management skills and I'm definitely organized! Just hope I get the support / training from my boss who is totally all over the place and a very distracted person :-/ Glad to hear you love sales!! Thanks

My title is Assistant Director of Student Services; I work at a state university in their graduate school of business. My responsibilities include overseeing academic advising of students, event planning (e.g., orientation, networking events), schedule coordination, advising graduate student organizations, working with our admissions staff on the recruiting/enrollment process for new students, and a whole lot of "other duties as assigned!"
I am a National Brand Manager in the Organic/Natural health industry for 30+ brands.
That's awesome! My sister has a background in marketing/advertising and is looking to go back to school for a masters in nutrition... I'm pretty sure she's hoping to do something similar to what you're doing once she graduates!
Re: Working Moms ~ Occupations?
I have a useless degree, so I work in the deli of a grocery store. It is soooo glamorous.
On the plus side, I won't be there much after LO is born....just a few days a week during the summer

I've probably come across your name/firm. Did FCL myself for over 5 yrs.
