Okay A's 2nd Birthday is three months away. I'm trying to decide on a location. Last year for her 1st Birthday we had a lot of people in our tiny TH and it was just really to close for my comfort.
This year she is really loving the playground, her favorite being the slides. I looked into renting a pavillon at Gunpowder state Park, but the one I really want is already booked up, because it's $200 (and you still have to pay to get into the park!).
I've been to the Harford County Recs. & Park website and they said to check the schedule and then call. The only down side is that the County doesn't allow grills @ Annie's. But I know A would love to have her party there.
Plus I have to worry about it actually raining/ being cold the 2nd week in October. Maybe I should consider another place!
Re: Anyone ever rent the pavillon at Annie's Playground?
I haven't personally but we have been to many parties there. It's a great place! Unless it has changed, I think the space is 1st come 1st serve. I can remember my 1 friend having to go there when the opened to stake her spot in the pavilion. Then, another friend said a company had reserved the spot under the pavilion and she had to use the tables on the opposite side.
Oh I have to ask her about it.
Online it says that you can reserve, but maybe I look again.
Thank you Kelly. I just re-read the website to confirm.
We looked there last year and they reserve the pavilions until September 30, then they become first come first serve. We did not want to have to get there early to try and get one and risk not having a place for guests, so we threw that idea out.
Oh that stinks! Yah I need 10/8/11, so that's really no good.
wise one, you are
Our daycare center has a family get together there every yr in Sept, and this yr I was in charge of scheduling it. I called prob in April to see about open weekends in Sept and they were already booked through the summer and Sept. After the 1st weekend of Oct they don't take reservations anymore, it's 1st come 1st served, BUT the park is winterized then which means they close the bathrooms and only port-a-potties are available.
I was told by Harford Parks and Rec that since Annie's rentals are free and it's a very popular park the reservations go very quickly. Apparently you have to call really far in advance.
We are going out of town that weekend.
Good to know. We've decided on another location. Thanks for all of the help though.
