I've been getting them a lot (several times a day) for the past several weeks. At first I just thought it was the baby pushing hard in one area, but I have since learned that is not the case. Is there any correlation with early labor? I have an OB appt tomorrow so I'll ask more then but figured I'd ask here too

Re: How often do you get Braxton Hicks?
I started feeling them right around the time the 3rd trimester hit, although I read that your uterus contracts throughout the pregnancy, you just might not feel it until it's bigger. Depending on how active I am and how much water I drink, I get about 5-15 per day, and I'm 33 weeks. They are always non-rhythmic.
If you have 6 or more in 1 hour, call your doctor. Also drink lots of water and put your feet up. This could be the start of preterm labor.
Mine also started about 16 weeks for this pregnancy, they started earlier with each pregnancy. I have them everyday and how often depends on how much I do in the day.
Once they started with my other pregnancies I had them everyday also. DD1 was born 1 day before her due date and DD2 was born 1 week before her due date. With DD2 I was 4cm and 80% at 35 weeks and stayed that way even with having BH daily until my OB stripped my membranes at my 39 week appt. She was born about 6 hours later.
My OB said the same as the pps stated.
I was the same way. I was 5 cm and 80% effaced by 35 weeks and never progressed further, even with membranes beinr swept at 39 weeks. I have DD at 40 weeks and 4 days, and it took me 24 hours to dilate from 5cm to 10!
