Did it work on the first try? I have a friend who just had the procedure done and she'll find out on the 27th if it worked. I am anxiously waiting to hear. She's so awesome and will make an amazing mother and I am praying that baby sticks!

    U/S#1 showed 2 heartbeats! U/S#2 showed Baby A's heartbeat was 157 and Baby B 's heartbeat was 183! U/S#4 showed Baby A is a Boy (heartbeat 161) and Baby B is a Girl (heartbeat 159)!! Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

    First IVF worked for us

    Dx with severe endometriosis. DS#1 conceived with Met and TI. TTC#2 for 2.5 yrs. Dx 2nd IF. 4 clomid cycles, 2 IUIs, Finally IVF#1 w/ICSI worked for us! twins born 35w3d. Unexpected total hysterectomy 6/11. Now on the HRT train.

    it worked for us, but we didnt do a fresh IVF.  we made the embyros, froze them and did put them in later.  Frozen transfers have a higher success rate.

    On our first round we were only given a 40% chance of it working at all (those are pretty low odds for IVF). So, we put two back and they both took! Imagine our surprise. Wink

    We did IVF#1 and it worked but ended in a m/c.  Then we got prego on fertility drugs (that was DD number 2, number 1 is adopted) then we wanted to go for number 3 and did IVF#2 and got prego with the twins.  GL to your friend! =))

    Yes it did work the first time for us-I couldn't believe it. We were very lucky!

    So true!  And the RE told us only 5% chance for triplets :)  We need to buy a lottery ticket

    IVF #1 didn't work for us.  FET#1 gave us our twins.  The FET was way easier on my body them the full IVF cycle.

    IVF #1 worked (after 6 IUI's).  Transferred 3, originally conceived trips, lost one at 8 1/2 wks.
    TTC #1 since 6/07, Dx = Ovulatory dysfunction, DOR, and autoimmune issues ~ 4 Clomid cycles, 1 Femara Cycle, 6 Injectible IUI cycles~ 4 Chemical PG's ~ IVF #1 Dec '09 = BFP!! Beta 8dp3dt = 68 10dp3dt = 276 16dp3dt = 1511 ~ First U/S 1/14 = 3 Heartbeats!!! Lost Baby C at 8w5d Emergency Cerclage at 22wks saved our babies lives Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

    I had 2 cycles canceled due to cysts, but once we were able to start a cycle, it worked.  We feel so lucky!

    i had a chemical pregnancy after IVF #1, and this pregnancy is IVF #2.

    1st IVF failed for us

    2nd one worked with DD, transferred 2, 1 stuck

    this time we transferred 2 frozen embryos, both stuck and 1 split into 2 :)

    It wasn't true for us. Our doctor gave us a 70% success rate for a fresh cycle, 60% for a frozen. I could see it being the case if you had lining issues maybe...

    My first IVF was cancelled before transfer so obviously that didn't work, but the first IVF we did that resulted in a transfer resulted in our twins. Good luck to your friend - I do hope that it works for her.

    Ours worked on the first try.  My cycle was actually a switch from IUI to IVF due to ending up with too many follicles to continue IUI.

    I did my first IVF cycle in May and i'm now 6 weeks pregnant w/ twins! So YES it worked on the 1st try! :) Good luck to your friend!

    It took us 3 fresh cycles and 2 FETs before we finally got our "take home babies". Of those cycles, 3 were m/cs. Our successful cycle was a FET.
