  Ari would be the nickname----however, I think that your pronunciation would depend on where you live! I'd tend toward R-ee-ella.

  Every woman I've ever known with this name has pronounced it "R-E-ella." It's relatively common among Orthodox Jewish women in their 20s where I live.

  I've heard it pronouced both ways-- I'm thinking mostly R-e-ella... and for a NN, "R" or "Ari" is what I've heard...

  R-E. (Though I've never heard it as a NN among the people I know who have it, since "Ari" is a very common guys name among the same group.)

  I see it as R-E-ella.

  Makes me think of Sebastian in Disney's the Little Mermaid. He pronounces Ariel different than the other characters. R-E-L.

  I saw the name, Airella, and totally heard his voice in my head saying it.

  Ari = R-E to me! I really like it and think you should go with it.

  Though I too have only heard it as a nickname for Jewish men. Though there was a character on Days of Our Lives called Ariana who was called Ari pronounced the same way- so it just may be because of where we live.
