What crib are you getting?

I'm exhausted researching cribs.  We aren't quite ready to buy one today but I would like to have a handle on this in the next month or so.  I found a few cribs online that we like but they aren't available in stores and I don't know if they're heavy enough.  What did you get or are you considering getting and why?  Thanks ladies :)

  • Considering the Lauren by Graco from Amazon (free shipping) b/c it was highly rated in Baby Bargains and is the right price, under $200!

  • I felt really limited in my options, really.  I was afraid to buy anything online without seeing it in person first.  The only places around here that even sell cribs are BRU, Target, and Walmart.  We finally decided to go with the Graco Lauren, too.  Like pp said, the price is right and the reviews are great.  We looked at it in store at BRU and then ordered online at Walmart because the price was better (for the crib/changing table/mattress combo).  Ended up getting the dresser at BRU, though, with the 20% sale they were having last month.  In the end, I didn't want to spend a fortune on a baby furniture set that may not even work for the child after a while.  Convertible cribs and all that are nice in theory, but they may not work in reality.

Honestly I picked it because I like the way it looks. I mean it meets all the safety standards too but most do. I just think it's gorgeous.

This is the one that we have, from the same place and for the same reasons.  We had it on our registry and my ILs got it for us.

  • The Sorelle Princeton 4-in-1 Convertible Crib from BRU. My dad is actually buying us all the converter pieces up front too, so hopefully it will last her for quite a while since it goes all the way to a full size bed. It also has a changing table with 3 drawers attached that converts into a nightstand. We love it! Even though it's a bit more expensive...

Graco Lauren for us as well.  Walmart had the deal where it was under $200, including mattress, and you can ship to store for free, so my parents got it for us.

We looked at this, it is really pretty. We ended up with a Legacy crib I saw in person and fell in love with.
  • We got the Ragazzi Pompei series classic convertible crib. They had it on closeout at a fancy baby store, so I couldn't pass up the deal and I took it home that day (no shipping). Normally it's almost $600, but I got it for $329. I found out when I got home that Amazon also has it for the closeout price. There is nothing wrong with it, just getting rid of that line or something. It's pretty, very sturdy, and has a little drawer underneath.

  • I ordered the Graco Lauren w/mattress from walmart too...however they couldnt send it...even though the had sent the mattress. We got a refund...and I ordered the Graco Charleston ( a little more money) and I think its georgeous! Reviews were just as good for it as the Lauren.  After Walmart giving us a discount..we got it for the same price!!! Should get it this week!

  • We just ordered the Ricki crib from Neport Cottages.  It's definitely heavier than the other cribs I've seen and they are handmade in California .  I just think it's pretty, the sides are upholstered,  and when I saw it I knew it was the one.

  • We're getting the Mercer Crib and the Modo 3-Drawer Dresser by Babyletto.  We were in a botique that had it on display and I love that it has storage underneath and that the crib is actually a little shorter than most other cribs - lifting our little guy in and out will definitely be easier for me this way!  We also like that it doesn't take up too much room, our nursery is pretty small and we definitely want to be able to fit a glider without feeling like we have furniture crammed around us.

  • We went with the Morgan set from JC Penny's. I just liked the classic look, and it will be ised for a long while to come.

I got two of these too but in Espresso color.  We were actually going to get the Graco Lauren and this Essentials model dressers but I had a $300 off coupon to get the 2 dressers and a crib (making the crib $30) and I got 10% off for getting 2 of the same cribs plus another 10% off the entire order for signing up for the BRU credit card.

  • We're getting the Gulliver crib from IKEA.  It received an A from Baby Bargains and everyone I've polled who has one loves it.  It's small and simple-kind of no-frills-but that's okay with me.  It's also only $100!

  • I bought another Stokke Sleepi- I love these cribs. Its oval, its made from eco- harvested woods, it becomes a toddler bed and then transforms into two chairs that can hold up to a 300lb adult. DS#1 has one and I found one on super super sale- and i snatched it up for this baby

  • We bought the Baby Cache Essential Flat Lifetime Crib in Chestnut from Babies R Us.  Just set it up tonight!!

It was about $265 with the 20% coupon.  (Babies R Us always has a 20% coupon for one item!)

  • I have a Jenny Lind style in white- can't remember the brand, but I got it at Babies R Us.  It's not a heavy crib, but it's been great for DD and will be used for DS when he arrives, as well.  Plus, it was $129.99.
  • We got the Tribeca from JCPenney in black. It was a $500 crib on closeout for a little over $200. We got it because it is a different style than most cribs and there were a lot of good reviews and people said that the wood was really heavy duty. We were planning on doing on of the DiVinci or Delta cribs but multiple friends of mine have them and the wood dents easily so we decided to go with something different.

  • We got the Graco Lauren crib, through WalMart also. The changing table and mattress are here, the crib is in transit. I can't wait until we paint the nursery and set it up this weekend! :) We wanted something that could grow with our little one. We aren't sure if we will be having a second.

I got this one too. I liked the dressers that came with it a lot, plus there was a $300 off coupon last week, which saved a lot. I was shocked at how much shipping cost though (an additional $500) - never expected that.

I really loved some of the Graco ones but couldn't find them in stores to see them and wanted to see it before I bought it.

We just bought this one in white for DD to move in to.  It is OK but I am not as impressed by it as I am with DD's current crib that will go to this baby and we had to return it once due to manufacturing defects.  I am really hoping it looks better set up and in the room.

This is DD's current crib and I am really wishing I had just bought another one.

  • We bought this set.  Natart Avalon.  Made in Canada, Greenguard certified. Converts to toddler bed, then double.  Rock solid and will last through this baby, then another (if we're lucky) and then one of them as they grow.

The drawers on the dresser are what sold me...  soft close.  :)

  • We haven't ordered it yet, because we want to see it in person but we will be going with the Graco Lauren based on reviews and the BB rating.

Thanks for the tip of the bundles from Walmart.  We're actually going to be getting the furniture as gifts from the grandparents so I will tell them to go there instead of Target!

  • We got the Nursery 101 collection from Target. The price was only about $250 for the dresser, crib, and changing table. We looked at all of them but honestly it was the design that I liked the best. We were totally prepared to spend $400 or so on a collection, but with that deal and the the set I couldn't pass it up.

This is the same crib we got.  We also got a floor model crib super cheap.  I don't think they are getting rid of the line b/c our store still had another floor model and we were able to order the new dresser to match.  I'm wondering if they have just updated some of the manufacturing on the crib since the rules change all the time.
