I thought by now the pp would've certainly stopped, but it hasn't. I notice that it's heaviest right after I pump and right after I BF, so I'm guessing there's some sort of correlation (then again, I have no clue). I'm nearing the 4 week mark and I'm still wearing regular pads. While it's not heavy, it's still enough to where I couldn't get away w/ wearing a liner right now. It sucks!
Re: Does pp bleeding last longer if you bf?
No, actually studies show that PP bleeding is shortened for women that BF.
I know in the beginning, it was heaviest when I BFed but that was because BFing helps shrink and contract the uterus back into shape, which can expell blood.
A lot of women bleed up to 6 weeks. If its really heavy still maybe call your dr.
Yeah. The nurses said that after I BF I will notice bleeding more and I still bleed too. I'm a week behind you but still have some bleeding occasionally and do notice it after bfing..especially when I notice that I contract a bit while bfing. I'm looking forward to this stopping though so that I don't have to wear pads all the time.
Mine didn't stop until 6 weeks pp. I don't know about later pp but soon after birth BFing does cause your uterus to contract pretty hard. That for me was always the worst part of BFing in the beginning.
