i'm about to take the dog's tags off

every single time DS has just fallen asleep, the dog shakes and his stupid tags have to jingle so loud.  DS just about jumps out of his skin. every.single.time.

 UGH!

    OMG!! I have the same exact problem! I have started taking the collars off our dogs all the time, other than when we go on walks. I can't take it! So glad I am not alone...

    I had this problem, so I bought our dog new tags with the silencer rubber things that go on them.  They're kinda like dog tags.  Works for us so far!

    Oh! We cured that, we took the tags off for an hour, and super glued them together, back to back. That way if she gets out her info is still there! She hasn't made a sound in a long time with those tags!

    I took the dogs' collars off. I only put them on the dogs when we go out now because we were having the same problem.?

    ours are nude.  one of them tries to eat her collar, so they've been nude for forever.  i live in an urban area, so we are very careful with locking them up before we open doors, and the risk worries me, but i have friends at AC and they are chipped so if they do get out we're prepared.

    LOL...same here! Although now I think DS is getting used to the sound because he's not jumping out of his skin EVERY time.

    I had to laugh because I was just about to post the same thing - Honey is naked whenever she's in the house.  I don't like how her collar leaves an impression in her fur (it doesn't look very comfortable) and she always scratches at it, so I just leave it off.  She's not an escape artist, she's micro-chipped and she's a VelcroDog, so I'm comfortable leaving it off.  She wears it when we go to Grandma and Grandpa's, and for walks or other trips and that's it.  Naked dogs rule!  ;)

    They make rubber "ring" thingies for the tags to keep them from banging into each other.  You can get them at any pet store.

    I have the same problem!  Thanks for some solutions you ladies offered - I'm going to look for the rubber covers for her tags. 

    I take her collar off alot in the house too, she's old and doesn't run out when I open the door anymore. Plus she's microchipped and the backyard is fenced.

    Baxter does the same thing.  So he goes without his collar in the house.  I also got one of the rubber rings to put around one of his tags which helps some, but we ended up just taking off his collar.
