Anyone have a tese done?

My DH had a tese or mtese (not sure which) a few days ago. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the results back? If they didn't give us an answer that day does that mean the results aren't promising? Thanks for any help.

MH had a mTESE almost 1 year ago. Once the surgery was done, the uro came out to tell me how many vials of sperm were collected. We had his frozen, so once I was set to do IVF, it was thawed and we were given results of the thaw within 24 hours.

We have had more TESAs than my husband would like to remember but, just like that last hope, his urologist told us how many vials we had the first time, which we froze, then we had to actually bring the sperm to our RE's office on the next floor up for our "fresh" cycle. Just give them a call, don't waste your time sitting around worrying because you don't know.

For DH's first mtese, no one called us with results so we called the next day (I think - maybe the day after.). For the 2nd the RE (the lab director from our clinic did the searching) called while DH was in recovery.

If there had been any found by the lab during the procedure, the uro would have told us but each time they had to take the tissue back to the lab to continue looking.

Thanks, I am waiting for the doctor's office to call. Before the procedure the urologist said 3-5 days before I would get results. Then when he came out to talk with me, he told me to keep my fingers crossed. So, I wasn't sure if no news was bad news. He originally didn't expect to find more than 50-100 sperm total, but felt he would be surprised if there weren't any at all.
