I gave DS a little bit of rice cereal for the first time yesterday and I mushed up probably a tbsp of banana in there too because DS didn't seem to fond of the plain rice flavor. I didn't really give him any banana pieces though, I was just trying to give it some flavor. He didn't poop the rest of the day but had pooped when I got him up this morning. Scattered throughout his poop were these black little stringy things (that scared me because they looked liked worms at first but weren't). DH suggested that they were the dark veiny pieces from the banana but there were way too many for how much of the banana he actually ate. Does anyone have any idea what they could be? Should I be concerned? He seems fine otherwise-no temp or anything. TIA!
ETA: I googled it and apparently they are somewhat common and caused by the banana but nothing to worry about...phew!
Re: LO Poop ? (tmi)
Your siggy pic just makes me smile...
Of course it could be the banana. Also, is he BF? DD has been having little brown stringy pieces in her poop and its from a food intolerance. If he is I don't want to freak you out but I think it is blood. I've cut out dairy and am trying to cut down on soy (it's in EVERYTHING) and today she had a poop with no little pieces in it. I hope it's just the banana though.
