Bakeries in Brooklyn?

Hi Mommies,

I'm wondering if you can help me. I'm planning my son's baptism from Miami and it will take place in Brooklyn next month, near the Park Slope area @ my husband's family church. We already have a restaurant booked a place called Ristorante Vaccaro. I'm wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction for a good bakery for cakes and or cupcakes I can contact.

I am not familiar enough with the area to know any. But you may want to post on the "regular" NYC Local Board. Hopefully you should get some help there.

Definitely Sweet Melissa if you are looking for cupcakes, etc.

There is also a place called Brooklyn Bread on 5th ave and (I think) 6th street- they do Italian pastries that are sooo good
