Crazy itching?

Does anyone else have bad itching? It is all over the place on me, my neck, hands, legs, boobs, belly and sides. There isn't any rash but I keep scratching so bad in my sleep that I'm drawing blood. I'm going to try some Benadryl tonight because lotion doesn't seem to help.

Re: Crazy itching?

  • I've had it all pregnancy so far, off and on. Half the time I get hives from it. I know my skin sensitivities/allergies, and this isn't them. But the OB insisted it's not pregnancy related and told me to go to my normal doctor... Yeah, not happening. Nothing they would do except tell me to use the cream that I use when it gets really bad anyway.

  • Yeah, Ive noticed that I itch a lot more than usual. Especially my boobs and belly. I know that is definitely pregnancy related because everything is stretching. But I also noticed that my skin is just all around more sensitive to allergens. My doctor told me that is definitely a direct cause of the crazy hormones. And with our immune systems being suppressed it just makes sense that we'd be more sensitive to things around us.

  • I've been pretty itchy too, but I think it's 85% psychosomatic because our kitchen and bathroom are crawling with ants that I can't get rid of and I can feel them crawling all over me (even thought they're not...)
  • I am also itch city! I swear it takes one tiny thing and I start itching all over! All the tags have been cut out of my clothes because those are the worst to me right now. I asked the dr and she said it's normal...normal or not, it's driving me crazy!

  • I have been having on and off itchy legs, I am not sure whether it is pregnancy related or not, as its only my legs, but I have found that bio oil seems to help calm the itching.

Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.

  • I have the worst itching, mostly on my legs.  Regular moisturizer didn't work so I bought Eucerin calming itch relief cream.  That barely helps.  Benadryl is the only thing that works.  I've even broken blood vessels in my legs from scratching so much.  My doctor says its normal to be itchy during pregnancy, but this is ridiculous.

  • Ugh, in the first early weeks of the pregnancy my legs would itch like crazy.  It was especially bad the day after I shaved them.  The dr. said it was normal for our skin to dry in places so I just slathered on a more natural lotion (without parabens, and thalates) made with oatmeal & it seems to help.  It's getting better, but my boobs itch a little too.

Glad I'm not alone. I never had this with DS so I thought I might be going crazy.
