~*~*Friday Workout Check-In~*~*

Wooohooo its Friday. Like I said last week Friday is one of the hardest days to work out. Even if you just walk around the neighborhood thats good!

What kind of calorie burner excercise are you doing today?

Im at work and cant do tips so its another:

QOTD: Once you have the baby will you buy something to be able to run/walk outside like a jogging stroller? And will you teach your children the importance of taking care of yourself as they get older?

Happy Happy Friday and Have a great weekend!

Re: ~*~*Friday Workout Check-In~*~*

  • I ran two this morning... and did 50 lunges, nothing to exciting. Hopefully do a 30 min video tonight... we'll see.

Stroller: Oh we have a lot of research to do! We're going to 1st buy a general Graco or Chicco Car Seat / Stroller that snap together and apart. Then once the child is old enough to have muscle control, we will then proceed to purchase a nice jogging stroller, it's not a top priority right now.  Those things are expensive, and I've heard a lot of them are very touchy.... Does anyone know a really good brand?

Yes! I got my degree in Physical Education, so active lifestyle is an important lesson. But I won't be to over bearing on the subject, keep general healthy foods in the house, yet a bag of chips & cookies here and there. I have an aunt who always nit picked at her daughters on this subject, didn't turn out to well. Mostly, I'll just try to be active with them, go outside play catch, bike rides, ... all the generals.

This will be me exactly. If my kid wants some fries Im not going to say no but for the most part we dont cook bad at home so they will know what good healthy food is. I love outdoor activites and cant wait to do those things you listed above!! As far as jogging strollers like you I have alot of research to do. Maybe look at consumer reports.
  • I'd planned on a swim, but may just power walk around my hood later...it's been a very long week.

Both Dh and I run marathons and do long-distance triathlons (he does full ironmans, I've just done a half). We moved to CO for the lifestyle/outdoor activities, so I have no worries that my kid(s) will be active and outdoorsy, too. They won't have a choice! Ha!

  • We are visiting Toronto for the weekend and are walking everywhere! About 5km round trip to the cn tower and back yesterday and another 4 hours of walking at the zoo today. My legs are starting to get tired... As for a jogging stroller, we will be getting one for sure (hopefully second hand cause those things are expensive!). I love jogging the neighborhood in the spring and fall, and taking baby with me is a good way to make that happen next year. I also plan to train for another sprint triathlon for the fall after the baby is born. I also have a degree in human kinetics so our child will see both of his/her parents involved in physical activity and sport. We eat healthy bit also know it's ok to have treats occasionally.

  • Oh, I missed the jogging stroller question! I will DEFINITELY have something like that. I am a huge runner and it's killing me not to run! I have actually qualified for the boston marathon twice and it was sold out this year, and won't be able to run 2 months postpartum next April, so I'll have to requalify for a THIRD time! So, yes, I will definitely be pushing that jogging stroller! Can't wait!!!
