Pink or Blue?!

Good Morning -

I figured I'd lighten up my posts a bit. Anyone honestly want one sex over the other?!  If so, why? I really want a girl ... there is a little family pressure on my to have "the" girl in the family. Everyone always said I'd be the one to have a girl. Here I am pregnant hoping I don't disappoint. Haha. Just kidding, I will be thrilled for a healthy baby, but I would really LOVE a daughter for me! :) I feel slightly guilty for picking, but I am sure if I hear the words "it's a boy" - I will be just as excited! Again, - As long as he or she is healthy!! But do you have a preference?

Re: Pink or Blue?!

  • I am really hoping for a boy.  We have 5 nieces plus all of our friends except for one has girls.  So I have lots of girls in my life, plus I can be kind of a tomboy- I like fishing, golfing and playing video games.  But a happy healthy baby is all I ask for.

  • In our family the pressure was on us to have a boy, bc we are the last of our name and we needed a boy to carry the name on (very Italian family). I also really wanted a boy first bc I grew up with a big brother. Needless to say we had a boy and the pressure is off.

I really want a girl this time but honestly I think having two boys would be great too. I'll be excited either way!

  • A girl becuase we have already agreed on a girl name over a boy name.  But as I'm sure we will all agree as long as they are happy and healthy it doesn't really matter
  • For sure a boy. We might not be able to have another baby so we want a boy to carry on our name as well as my husband being a huge sports fanatic soo of course he wants a boy.

  • With DS, I wanted a girl--but I truly didn't really care about the sex! I was thrilled to find out we were having a boy!! This time I'd love another boy because I think DS and another boy would get along so well being 2 years apart. Then ideally we'd have a girl for the third baby. I think that would be great. But, I really don't care and I just feel so blessed God has trusted us with another child. I love being a mom, boy or girl!! :-)

  • DH and I are both hoping for a girl for our first baby.  Not exactly sure why, but I guess that's what we picture ourselves having first.  We've got names picked out for either a boy or a girl, so its not that.  I had older brothers and he's an only child so that has nothing to do with it.  As everyone else has said.... we will be thrilled with either as long as the baby is healthy and happy.  But, as long as you are asking, we are hoping for a girl.

  • Since I already have DS, I want a girl. Plus I think it would be cute having DS protect his baby sister. However, I want 3 kids and DH only wants 2. I told him if this one is a boy then we have to try again. If it's a girl, then I might have to settle for 2 children. It will be great either way. Mother's intuition tells me it's a boy!

  • We would be happy with either, but DH is the last to carry the family name on, so we're slightly hoping for a boy.  I know his entire family would be thrilled to have the name continue through one of our babes one day :)

  • I want a girl because....

    1. DD will have a sister

    2. I can re-use everything, AND the birthdays are very close so the seasons of sizes would even match up.

3.They have to share a room until we buy a bigger home....

    I want a boy because...

1.We don't have one! and DH would love one

    2. DH is last for his name....he needs offspring to continue on!!

  • Of course, I'd never be disappointed, but we'd love a boy. My husband is also the last in his family, so to carry on his family name. :-) Both Grandma's want a girl SO bad!!

  • I would be really happy for both, I kinda feel the presurre of having a boy cause my husband wanted our now DD to be a boy. I mean once he met her he was in love and he loves having a lil girl. But I think he would really want a boy. Then I would love it to be a girl cause then they can be sisters and thats always really neat. :)

  • We really want a boy.

I'm scared to have a girl because of how bad I was when I was younger. I feel like Karma would be coming to get me if we had a girl. And my Fi is one of those ridiculously protective people who would make that little girl's dating life hell. I have this overwhelming feeling it's a girl though.

I'm honestly happy as long as it sticks, and stays healthy!

  • I'd love a boy.  My SIL already gave my ILs a girl, so I think having a boy would be really nice.  Plus, they can look out for any younger siblings.  However, DH would like a girl.  I'm pretty sure it's going to be a girl, just based on sex timing and other silly old wives tales (like type of underwear DH wears)

  • I want a girl!!  I feel so terrible for having a preference but I can't help it.  My sister has two boys and I love them so much so I know I would love a little boy too.  I just really want us to have a little girl in the family and I think she is finished having a children so we're the last hope.  I agree that decorating a girl's nursery gets me super excited.

I'm just curious, what do you mean by biology?

We can't decide which we want first.  I used to always want a boy first, but since I spent the last 3 years nannying for a little boy, I feel like I've gotten that out of my system.  Now we can't figure out a preference, which is probably good :)

  • we really want a girl....i will be perfectly happy with a boy, and my h will be *okay* with a boy.

we will be team green though, so 8.5 more months until we know what we have!

  • Same with me! My sister has 2 boys and I have 2 brothers so to bring a baby girl to the family would be sooo fun! :)

  • DH really would love a boy.  He says they are cheaper and more practical.  Ugh, men.

    I'm indifferent :)

Although DH does have a point, I may spend more money on clothes if LO is a girl!

  • *I* don't have a preference but DH really wants a girl.  It would be awesome to have one of each and watch DS be protective of his little sister but two boys would be awesome too!

  • I go back and forth, so I've come to the conclusion I don't really care :)

I have a feeling it's a boy, and sometimes I'd like to have a boy first because I always wanted an older brother. Plus I think H would like having a boy first. But, I'm secretly afraid of having a boy because I think I won't know what to do with one! We're not finding out the gender, so it'll be a LONG wait!

  • We don't really have a preference for one over the other. Weird, cause I always though that I would. I just want a healthy baby! Intuition tells me its a boy though. I have really been gravitating towards everything blue/green/orange and girly stuff is not appealing to me.

I want DH to have a girl and a boy so hopefully we will get the opposite of whatever this one is, next time! We are team green. Only 35 more weeks to wait! :)

  • We really want a boy. I have all sisters, and DD is the only grandchild in the family, so a boy would be nice. When I first found out I was pregnant with DD, I knew she was going to be a girl. I never even thought for 2 seconds that she could possibly be a boy and thats how I feel with this baby about being a boy. Of course there are pros and cons to each and we just want a healthy baby, but we are hoping to be team blue. :)

I really want a boy first.

I was an older sister with a terror of a little brother, so I do not wish that on my kids. Also, I guess I just see an older boy as a protective older brother to his younger sister.

  • We'd love a boy because DH is so into sports.  It would be fun for him to have a little guy to pal around with.  When we heard we were having a girl last time, I think he was scared that he couldn't horseplay with her or take her out to throw, catch and hit a ball.  But they are best pals and always are playing together.  He is also great at dressing her (matching) because he also likes clothing.  I would like either, and so would he, because it would be so cute to have sisters like me and my sis!  Either way, we are just so ecstatic to be PG again!!!

  • You know, I always thought I would be a better mommy to boys, but now all of the sudden I am feeling girl. Either way I will be super happy. It does help that my sister gave me all of her clothes from my nieces, so if we have a girl we are pretty set!

  • Honestly, I really don't care.  It's funny because before DS was born, I thought I HAD to have a girl.  But I love having a boy so much that I would love to have another boy too!  It would be so fun to have 2 of the same sex.  I would still love having a girl too.  So far everything's been really different, so I have a feeling this one is a girl.

  • The pressure is on from DH's family to have a boy and I know DH would like a boy.  If we don't have a boy I might have to do this all over again.  I will be happy with either.  I would love a boy to complete our family and I would love to see DD with a sister.

  • There is pressure for a boy since DH is one of the last with our last name in the country!  However, I don't care either way as long as he/she is healthy.

  • I really want a boy this time around. Not to the point that I'd be disappointed if it's another girl, but I've always wanted one of each.
