hello ladies--
i'm a regular nestie and former regular knottie so i recognize a lot of your names!
i've been afraid to venture over to the darkside of TB for a long time, but i do not want to bombard our girls on TN with too many baby happenings that i decided i should pop in here!
i got my BFP yesterday. h and i have been "passively trying" since january this year, so i would say we did pretty well... i have an irregular period, so i don't know when my "real" due date is, but based off of the first date of LMP, due date is 2/14. based on my somewhat educated guess, i think it will be closer to 2/21.
my first u/s will be on june 30th.
instead of having a bunch of replies that say "welcome" and "congrats" 
, let's answer some questions?
1) when/how did you tell your/his parents you were pregnant? (i haven't told mine yet)
2) what should i get my h for his very first almost-fathers day *this* wknd?

i have another question!!! i lurked bump longlonglong time ago, during wedding planning phases..and i remember somebody had once posted a website that was "like the bump" but for dads....anybody know what site that is? thanks!!

Firstly I have to say that we already have something in common as Jenny GG did my "bump" photos, newborn plus a few more shoots & I LOVE, love, love her! She is now a great friend of mine! How did you choose her to be your photographer?
Secondly in response to your question on how did you tell parents. I told them when I was 16 weeks pregnant in line with Christmas. I made this calender up for them -
And as for ideas for your H for Fathers day maybe you could just get a framed poem and sign it from your growing baby seeing as you won't have your u/s until the end of the month. Or a cute onesie saying sonething special like "I love my Daddy".

WOOHOO!!! Nice to see you over here - we were on the Knot together and got married around the same time! Congrats!
1 - we had a dinner - a "post holiday get together" is what we told everyone. Invited our "family", both genetic and chosen. We played a trivia game, 10 questions about us and then a "bonus question", Jeopardy style. "July 6, 2011" was the answer and people were throwing out guesses. We then announced that was our due date. Everyone was shocked and excited - it was a really fun way to announce.
2 - We've celebrated Father's Day for our entire relationship - DH has been a father to my 2 children for awhile now. I still haven't come up with anything for this weekend to really celebrate the fact that he is now (going to be) a genetic father. I should probably get crackin' on that!
jennygg was a rec on TK when i was looking for a photog for my wedding. she was relatively new at the time (oct2008) when i was looking..she is awesome! i've had several friends use her as well, and in addition to engagement/wedding, i also used her for 2 sets of bpix, and a TTD, and plan on doing bumps in about 8 months or so
thank you for all the cute suggestions so far, ladies! i *love* the calendar idea, and also the jeopardy idea! at my bday, i'll be about 12 weeks, so i think that would be an awesome way to have everybody over to tell our friends
Welcome & Congrats. I am due on 2-21 with my 3rd, looks like we will be due about the sametime.
1) when/how did you tell your/his parents you were pregnant? (i haven't told mine yet) We haven't told yet either. On Fathers Day my parents are coming over and I will give him a pic of my boys in "big brother" tshirts. Then next week we are telling my real Dad and sister with a cake decorated baby style for my b.day. With my other boys we gave flowers that said "cant wait to meet you in january" and the big brother shirt, so that won't work for you.
2) what should i get my h for his very first almost-fathers day *this* wknd? I got my dh the book "my boys can swim" his 1st, we had just found out about #1. It's a funny look at pregnancy through the husbands eyes. Very quick read, but we both enjoyed it.

Now to answer your q's we never did anything special to announce our BFP's.As for an almost daddy day gift, what about a baby shirt that says "I love Daddy", "My Daddy rocks" kind of thing.

I remember you from The Knot, I was KatWSU4 back then! 
We didn't do anything special to tell the parents. We just were like, "Hey we're pregnant!" It was lame!
I got H a new wallet that has a money clip thing on it and had it engraved with #1 Daddy. We actually got our BFP on Father's Day last year, so that was also his gift too... his Father's Day gift was a little belated last year.

1) Because of timing issues due to a family emergency, we didn't do anything special to tell my parents... just came out and told them. But I really, really WANTED to use Lynchie's priceless frame idea. Hopefully she'll respond here.
2) Are there any sports/teams that he loves? I got a Seahawks onesie and an Arizona Wildcats onesie for my DH early on. (Actually, I had them waiting since we started TTC and that's how I told him the test was +.)

1) when/how did you tell your/his parents you were pregnant? (i haven't told mine yet) I knew my mom would cry, so we didn't do anything fun or creative. We just went to visit so we could tell her in person. My dad was at work and almost immediately upon arriving home he made a joke about being pregnant with twins, so when we told him we said "If this turns out to be twins, I'm blaming you!" We're simple folk.2) what should i get my h for his very first almost-fathers day *this* wknd? I agree with PPs, I think something like an "I love Daddy" onesie or something like that would be really cute. Or if he likes sports, maybe a onesie representing his favorite team?

Welcome! I'm pretty new here too, and only 6 weeks pregnant. We haven't told our parents yet, but since we live so far away from them (both of our families are in Wisconsin), we're probably going to just do it over the phone. We're thinking with DH's family we'll try something subtle, by referring to his siblings as "uncle A" and "aunt C" and see if anyone catches on.
I was thinking for father's day I might do something kitschy and get DH a tie (for the funny stereotypical father's day gift) along with a book. Headed to Northgate shortly to peruse.
We told our parents on Mother's Day, I bought one of those "baby" frames, and put a note in the frame that said " coming December 2009". My mom was so surprised and when she showed my Dad his response was "you gotta be shi$$ing me". My In laws live in CA so we sent them the same thing and told her she could not open it until Mother's day, she was very surprised and happy as well.
As for a Dad's day gift, all the suggestions you have recieved have been great. I got DH a onsie that said " Daddy's little fishing buddy".
I remember you! Congrats on your BFP. It's exciting to start seeing more and more knotties from when I was planning in 2008.
We didn't do anything special to tell our parents. There was too much going on last summer in my family so we just told our moms and his dad.
Did you already tell K about your BFP? I like the onesie idea if you haven't already told him. I would have loved to have done something like that for him.
I bought DH the book Let's Panic About Babies later on in my pregnancy, and that book is a hilarious take on pregnancy and parenthood.

1) For my FIL, we went out to dinner with him and had the server slip the u/s photo in the wine list before we were seated, since he and I normally pick out a bottle together. He was beyond thrilled to find it. We just called our MIL and asked if she had plans for Thanksgiving, because if she didn't, her grandchild would like to spend it with her. We did something semi-special for my parents, but right now, I can't remember what it is. That doesn't sound very special...
2) There are two books that my H really liked (and he does not usually enjoy reading) that could be good gifts: The Expectant Father (it also made him much more attentive and understanding of my pregnancy, which was a bonus!) and The Baby Owner's Manual, which has funny but helpful diagrams and advice about baby care in a computer-techie-retro format. I also like the idea of a cute onesie!

1) We were juslame and toldthem the next time we saw each of them in person.
2) I got H a cook book her wanted and a "my daddy rocks" onesie. I also threw in some funky assesories since we are having a girl.
