Isn't it great? I'm almost done with it. He's just about to execute Catherine Howard.
I highly recommend the author's other books, especially The Memoirs of Cleopatra and Mary, Called Magdalene.

I have. It's so fascinating. The original soap opera!
3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again

I was thinking Mary Queen of Scotland next. Have you read it?
Yup! I've read all of her books. It's an interesting book, but the last third really starts to drag.

I'm about halfway through and yes, I think it's great. But i didn't like Tudors at all. I gave up after two episodes.
really? i think part of what drew me in was watching his pregnant mistress being sequestered. i kept thinking about how lucky i was that i could still do anything i wanted while pregnant.
the tudors was ridiculously trashy. it was like true blood with 16th century royalty.
Are you guys talking about the Phillippa Gregory books or a real autobiography? Both are interesting- in different ways.

Love this author. Has anyone read her newest, Elizabeth I? I haven't yet - just looking for opinions. MIL read it and hasn't been loving it. I liked the others, especially Henry VIII.

I love her books. The autobiography of Henry VIII is my favorite but Helen of Troy is a very close second.

It's different from her other books because it focuses on Elizabeth's last 20 or so years. It also juxtaposes her and Lettice Knolleys, Elizabeth's cousin and second wife of Elizabeth's love, Robert Dudley. Elizabeth's virginity vs. Lettice's harlotry mostly.
I really enjoyed it, but it does take a bit of getting into.

I hate Phillipa Gregory. My hatred of her surpasses my hatred of Stephanie Meyer. That's how deeply it runs.

I've never read her or Stephanie Meyer. I'm guessing by your reaction that I'm not missing anything.
She fvcks with the history and makes me stabby. Like The Tudors.

Yes, I know that is the set-up so I'm thinking I will enjoy it just fine.

It's actually fiction but my only complaint of his portrayal o far is the fact that he is so romanticized.

Oh, I assumed it was an actual autobiography, my bad.
