I've got the nursery all set up. I've got the bassinets in our bedroom. Two questions. How long did you keep your LOs in-room with you before you transfered them to their cribs? What and when did you start adding to the crib as the LOs got older? (ie-crib bumpers, mobiles, musical toys). TIA

I EBF so ds was in our room in a pack and play for 3 months, then we put him in the crib. I think I would personally freak out a little at having the baby down the hall in a separate room in the beginning. The transition to the crib wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at all.
We had only a bedding set-style bumper in the crib until he could move a little on his own. Then we took that out, and after he could get far enough to get his limbs in the slats we put in a breathable bumper. No blankets, we used a miracle blanket and then sleep sacks. I honestly don't remember when we let him have a blanket, I think we started with his blankie that my mom made him, it was a nice and holey knitting job and didn't worry me. I am guessing after 6 months but I might be way off.
He would also have his glowing seahorse toy. He had a light up rainforest waterfall toy for awhile. but we took out because he was not a good sleeper and we didn't want anything to distract him from the task at hand.
DS slept in his room from day 1. He had bumpers until he started moving around. I didn't have a mobile until later on. Apparently I'm the backwards one here!
ETA: Once he started moving I got breathable bumpers.

We had the tot with us for about 8-9 weeks, then transitioned him to his crib so that he was in there and used to it by the time I returned to work at 12 weeks.
We never added any of those things to the crib. We wanted to keep it a place for sleeping, not playing.
ETA: I forgot. We did at breathable bumpers once he was moving around and sticking limbs out of the crib.
DS1 was in his crib from day 1.
DS2 was in our room in a Rock N Play Sleeper for almost a year-not by choice.....we were living with my mom while house hunting and there was not an extra bedroom for him. He had SEVERE reflux and was a horrible sleeper, so we did not want to put him with DS1 for fear of waking DS1 up at night.
This baby will sleep in our room in the Rock N Play Sleeper for maybe a month.
Adding "stuff": I never used bumpers. DS1 had a mobile in his crib from day 1 (which he loved!). Because DS2 slept in the RNP for a long time, he didn't get a mobile. I will put on on this baby's crib when he/she moves into his/her room.
Not sure what musical toys you are referring to?? Like the Glo-worm/seahorse? DS1 never liked those, but DS2 has them in his crib now (at 19 months.....) and they have been in there since he was about 15 months.
DS1 had one of the FP Rainforest Soother/music machines in his crib around 13 months or so. This is when he would stand in his crib and pull on the mobile, so we took the mobile down and put the soother in, which he loved.
This is exactly how I want to do it but with twins not sure how well it will work out. Our room is right next door to the nursery so it won't be too bad. It sounds like everyone did something a little different. I guess there are no exact rules you have to follow. Thanks Ladies
DD was in our room for the first 3 months. At that point she was sleeping through the night so we moved her to her crib. She's been there ever since and transition was never a problem.
At about 6 months we put a FP crib keyboard in there. She never had a mobile. She started sleeping with her babies/stuffed animals around 18 months.
We moved DS into his crib at 5 weeks old when he started sleeping through the night.
He had a mobile in his crib since day one and would hang out in there watching it and listening to the music maybe once or twice a day. He also had the FP rainforst aquarium that up until a month ago when we moved him into his new room he was still using. That thing is awesome!!
