I am 17weeks and 1 Day, I am kinda worried because this is my first child and still have not felt it move. Now my question is.. is that normal or not normal?
I had an anterior placenta with DS (meaning it's on the front of your uterus) and i didn't feel a thing until 22 weeks... then it was full force and didn't stop until delivery.
Don't worry, you'll feel it and you'll know it. I remember feeling ripped off because I was missing out on all of those 'extra' weeks that others were feeling their babies move but it will happen.
I didn't feel anything until week 18. Even then it was only a few times during the next two weeks. I am just 20 weeks and have finally felt baby 3 days in a row. It's not a lot of movement, mainly at night when I am trying to go to sleep.
I was 19 weeks with my first. Don't stress, it's different for everyone.

I am 16w4d and have an anterior placenta... haven't felt anything and not getting my hopes up to feel even a flutter for at least another month or more... I wouldn't worry too much. And if it truly worries you that much, feel free to discuss it with your doctor.
Depends on your placenta placement, positioning of the baby and your body type.
My placenta is against my back so I feel every little thing she does, I started feeling her really early but just thought it was gas/tummy grumblings until they became stronger.
Once your babies muscles strengthen (over time) you will feel them non-stop. You can definitely always share your concerns with your Doc - they can do a doppler or what not to reassure you via the heartbeat that all is well

I never felt the flutters that people talk about. I felt my first kick at 18 weeks and a couple days. Everyone is different. Some don't feel till 22 weeks.
It's very normal. Usually 18-22 weeks is the typical time that you would feel movement. Some people feel it earlier, some feel it later. There are many factors that go into it (position of uterus, position of baby in the uterus, etc.) I wouldn't worry about it, but I definitely understand you being anxious to feel your baby.
I never felt the flutters, just the kicks and I didn't start feeling them until 21-22 weeks, and even then it wasn't anything constant. Baby is still small enough that you won't feel all the movement that is going on in there. Don't stress yourself out, another couple months and you will be feeling LO all day.
No worries! If you are anxious like me it's tough becuause I just want to have that "next step" with LO. I just turned 18 weeks yesterday and I THINK I may have felt something little, but not enough to say that it was definitive. My doc told me at my last visit (17 weeks) that I am still very early on and it may be another month. Hang in there!!
I didn't feel anything that I knew was baby movement with my first until 19 weeks. I might have felt something going on down there but wouldn't bet money that I've felt this one yet at 15 weeks. There was a survey about baby movement yesterday on the December board, and I didn't answer because honestly I am skeptical that any of us due in December, except *maybe* for moms on #2 or more with EDDs early in the month, have felt anything yet.
DD born 10/10/07 * DS born 11/25/11 * #3 due 3/9/2015
I did not start feeling anything until after 17 weeks. It was so random I questioned if it was gas or a flutter. I am 20 wks 5 days and am just starting to feel movement more consistently and stronger.
Normal. I'm having my first, do not have anterior placenta and didn't feel anything I was certain was movement until week 18 or 19. My doctor told me sometimes it is as late as week 20.
well its your first pregnancy don't worry i didn't feel anything with my DD until the end of my 19th week my DS i was at 16weeks and this time i started last week i noticed flutters once in awhile at 14-15 weeks. i guess i know what im suppose to be feeling. but i wouldn't worry at all, you could have felt what you thought was gas, and it really was the baby! i mistaken that a lot with my DD.
TOTALLY normal... The average is 18-20 weeks to feel the first flutters. I started feeling them shortly after 18 weeks... It will come. Mine feel like when my eye twitches...

I definitely agree with everyone else here

Burned by the Bear
I just reached the 19 week mark and Sunday night I felt my first "flutter"...which oddly enough I was also able to feel on the "outside" as well.
I havent felt anything quite as pronounce since then, but have def felt "something" in their wriggling around every now and then.
I'm almost 21 weeks and haven't felt any kicks or flutters yet. I don't have an anterior placenta, so I don't know why...
My OB says I have a lot of amniotic fluid, maybe thats why.
I had my ultrasound only to find out I was 12 weeks not 17!!
kinda bummed but all so very grateful for more time to plan out everything!!
Thank you ladies.
